略歴 / Career

  • Viola Prifti specializes in patent protection for biotechnological inventions with a particular focus on plant variety protection and human embryonic stem cells. She holds a B.A. in law, a M.A. in International and EU law (with distinction), a magistrate degree from the University of Pisa in Italy, and a PhD (magna cum laude) from the Institute of Law & Economics, Hamburg University. In the past, she has worked in several legal environments both in Italy and Germany, and has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich and in an IP Centre in the UK. Viola is fluent in English, Italian, Albanian, German, and she also has a good knowledge of French and Spanish.
